There is a leak on the Highway 14 Regional Water Transmission System in Strathcona County. Preparations are underway to repair this leak. The tentative date for the repair to begin is January 6, 2020. This leak could take up to 48 hours to complete. During this time there will be an interruption of water supply to reservoirs and rural customers. The Commission will attempt to have all urban reservoirs topped off prior to starting the repair. Rural customers should make necessary arrangements for their water supply during this time. The Commission’s 6 truck fills will be open during this time. Please check our website for the location of truck fills. An account must be set up with our office before water can be dispensed. The Commission office will be re-open after the Christmas break on January 2, 2020.

The Water Demand Measure A will be in effect on January 6 at 8 am and continue until notification is given by the Commission that the water restriction has been lifted. This measure requires that there will be no non-essential water use such as:
o Hydrant flushing
o Street sweeping
o Irrigation sprinklers
o Sewer flushing
o Firefighting training
o Fleet vehicle washing
o And all other non-essential use

Thank you for your cooperation during this time
