Notice of Public Hearing – Proposed Material Change to Claystone Waste Ltd. Municipally Controlled Corporation Business Plan

It is the intention of the Village of Holden Council to consider a Material Change to the Business Plan of Claystone Waste Ltd., a Municipally Controlled Corporation. The purpose of the Material Change in the Business Plan is to enable Claystone Waste Ltd. and Claystone Waste Limited Partnership to incorporate or acquire a subsidiary or subsidiary corporations, to acquire or establish partnerships and interests in partnerships, to enter into joint venture arrangements, leases and other forms of arrangements with third parties. This proposed Material Change will allow Claystone Waste Ltd. and the Claystone Waste Limited Partnership to manage risk more effectively and to provide more flexibility and efficiency in carrying out the goals and objectives set out in the Business Plan. Any subsidiary, partnership, joint venture, lease or any other arrangement will be bound by and subject the Business Plan as approved.

The Public Hearing will occur at 6:45 pm, Monday, March 20, 2023, 4810 – 50 Street, Village of Holden, Alberta.

Notice to the Public of Bylaw 2-2023 – Borrowing Bylaw

Notice to the General Public of the Village of Holden – Proposed Borrowing Bylaw No. 2-2023

The purpose of the Proposed Borrowing Bylaw No. 2-2023 is to meet the requirements of ATB in relation to the Village Operating Line of Credit that has be ongoing for a number of years. ATB requires that Council annually pass a borrowing bylaw for the line of credit. This Line of Credit covers the Village credit card and if necessary, operating cash flow. However, before the Line of Credit is used for Operating cash flow, Council would be notified by Administration and agree to the use.

A copy of the proposed bylaw may be viewed at the Village Office, 4810 – 50 Street, Holden, AB.

If any resident of Holden has concerns with the proposed bylaw, they may send a notice of their concerns to the Village Office, Box 357, Holden, AB T0B 2C0. The notice must outline the concern(s) that the individual has with the proposed bylaw and the reason why they are concerned.

Provincial Test of the Emergency Alert System

A provincial test of the emergency alerting system will happen on Wednesday, March 1 at 1:55pm.

A by election is being held on Monday, April 3, 2023 to fill one vacancy on Village of Holden Council.

Nomination forms and a Candidates Information Package can be picked up at the Village of Holden Office (4810- 50 St.) or from Returning Officeer Christine Mackay by calling 780-688-3812.

Nominations will be accpeted until 12 Noon on Monday, March 6, 2023. Please call Returning Officer Christine Makay at 780-688-3812 to schedule an appointment to file your nomination papers.
